The vibes around Linux are changing.
Come take part in the shift.
For one day, we’re gathering the builders, the early-adopters, and anyone else who refuse to accept “that’s just how Linux works and looks”. The ones willing to reimagine what an OS made for people who love computers could be, and who together have converted droves of new people from Windows and Mac into the Omarchy world. Restoring “The Year of Linux on the Desktop” to a prophecy, not (just!) a joke.
Experience
- 20-minute lightning talks
- from the people making Omarchy better and cooler through code, design, and advocacy.
- DHH
- sharing the Omarchy vision and mission from origin, to present, to future.
- Primeagen
- doing... whatever Primeagen does (you know it’s good).
- Celebrating
- the Omarchy community taking off, coming together, and shipping rapid improvements.
- Next steps
- of where we can take the vibes, the aesthetics, the ergonomics, and the passion.
- Fresh hardware
- running Linux better than ever.
Vibe
We’re not here to teach you Linux basics or sell you anything. We’re here because making computers fun and cool again is vital.
If you’ve ever thought “there has to be a better way” while configuring your dev environment, you belong here.
Expect:
- Technical depth without the academic pretense.
- Strong opinions, loosely held (and vigorously debated).
- Coffee strong enough to compile a kernel.
- Conversations that continue long after the last talk.
Speakers
- Bjarne Øverli
- Made Aether for Omarchy. Created Hemmelig.app for secret sharing. Always trying to simplify. Hacking on projects by night, CTO at Unite AS by day.
- Chris Power
- Decades-long Linux enthusiast. Switched from i3wm to Omarchy and hasn’t looked back. Created typecraft, a YouTube channel focused on dev tooling and Linux.
- Dax Raad
- Created OpenCode, the open-source AI coding agent taking the terminal by storm. Believes the future of development happens in the CLI. Building in public and shipping fast.
- DHH
- Recent Linux convert. Created Omarchy, Ruby on Rails, Hotwire, Kamal, Basecamp, HEY. CTO at 37signals and on the board at Shopify.
- Primeagen
- Ex-Netflix engineer turned full-time streamer. Built a following screaming about Vim, Linux, and performance. Lives in the terminal and thinks your editor setup could be better.
- Ryan Hughes
- Building things on the internet since age 12. Reformed Apple fanboy — closed the MacBook in 2024 in favor of Linux full time with no regrets. Contributor to Omarchy. Partner & CIO at Oodle.
- TJ DeVries
- Neovim core maintainer and creator of Telescope. Made modern Vim discovery actually enjoyable. Streams the internals of editor development while live-coding in the open.
- Vaxry
- Made Hyprland, and a bunch of stuff around it. Working full time as the Hyprland guy, while learning the guitar and finishing a bachelor’s in my free time.
This isn’t a conference. It’s a convening of the obsessed—the ones who rice Linux for fun, who have opinions about init systems, who believe the developer experience is about more than just making it work.
